what approvals are required for cultural and natural resources?
The use of federal funding from the EPA means that this project is subject to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, which requires approval from both the Wisconsin State Historic Preservation Office and the EPA. Additionally, the Milwaukee River Parkway is on both the National and State Register of Historic Places, thus approval of the project design by the City of Glendale Historic Preservation Commission is also required. The date for that meeting will be forthcoming. An Environmental Impact Statement for this project is NOT required, and environmental reviews occur through the permit and agency review processes.
