Cross Country Skiing
All Milwaukee County Parks allow free cross-country skiing when snow conditions permit.
Skiing is allowed during regular park hours.
We require 6" of snow to groom our trails.
Ungroomed trails are available for your enjoyment whenever Mother Nature cooperates.

****UPDATE: The Whitnall Warming House
2022 - Due to the recent Covid outbreak, we will not be opening the seating area at Whitnall Clubhouse for sledders. We will continue to offer ski/snowshoe rentals and to go food and beverage out of the clubhouse as snow conditions allow.
Saturday 10 am – 5 pm &
Sunday 10 am – 5 pm. Restrooms will also be accessible.
(Whitnall Golf Course Club House) will be open, weather permitting as a warming house with light refreshments and provide snow shoe and ski rental. Our concession runs the operation of the warming house and can be reached at 414-257-5622)
Hours of Operation
Saturdays: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sundays: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
*The Whitnall Park Golf Course Clubhouse will open when there is 3 inches of fresh snow and trails are groomable.
Ski and snowshoe rentals are as follows:
Ski Rental: $25 for same day rental $30 for 24 hour rental (get on Saturday and return on Sunday) $100 for a 5 day rental
Snowshoe: $15 for same day rental $20 for 24 hour rental (get on Saturday and return on Sunday) $50 for a 5 day rental.
Most people just do a same day rental, and get the skis back before we close for the day. You can only do a 24 hour rental on Saturday, to return on Sunday, because those are the only two days we are open. If we get a big enough fresh snowfall during the week, where school gets cancelled, we will usually try to do a special open for that.
Contact phone number: 414-525-4765 (Available to answer during operational hours.) OR Parks Administration at 414-257-7275.
